Watch out for that first step….it's a doozy.

The First Step: Getting Clear.
Before playing any video game it is imperative that you know a few key pieces of information:
1. Who your character is
2. Where your character is
3. The objective
Are you Mario out to save the princess as in 'Donkey Kong'?
Are you to hack and slash anyone that comes near as in the game 'Gods of War.'
Perhaps it's a gun battle on crack as in 'A Call to Duty'
or maybe it's a simulation daily life as in 'The Sims'.
Whatever your game is you need to know:
1. Who you are
2. Where you are
3. What the objective is
Without this knowledge you will flop around like a fish out of water and you will not accomplish much if anything.
Ironically enough these are the fundamental existential questions of life.
Perhaps video games hold the answers to more than you ever imagined. Perhaps they are the cosmic clue to really understanding your life here.
The first rule of video games is the same as in life:
Know who you are, where you are and what the objective is.
Understand this and you will succeed if you don't you won't.
The second rule in video games is super simple:
Have fun. The purpose of video games is to have fun...consider the purpose of life is to have fun!
